Trilhas da Bocaina is the first ecotourism agency located in the city of Bananal, SP, offering adventure tourism to the beautiful destinations within the Serra da Bocaina, always putting first your safety and well-being so that you can make the most of your trip.
Our agency started from the meeting of three guys from Rio de Janeiro who moved to Bananal for different reasons, who met in this small historic town and became great friends on trails and adventures in the region. Another thing we have in common is our concern for the environment. We participate in local reforestation actions and the voluntary brigade created during the fire that in 2017 consumed about 1,200 hectares of green area in Serra da Bocaina. In a project in partnership with Amovale and One Tree Planted, we operate on the steepest slopes where the safety of the operation requires the use of vertical techniques.
As a symbol of our commitment to environmental preservation, we plant a native tree of the Atlantic Forest for each visitor we take on our tours.
All safety equipment used in our activities undergo rigorous checking and maintenance before and after each use, and all expiration dates are strictly observed. All participants are insured by EcoTrip, a company specialized in tourism, sports and adventure activities.
We are a registered agency in Cadastur agency, a program of the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism that promotes the formalization and legalization of tourism service providers in Brazil.
One of our team members is a work safety technician (SENAC), a professional civilian firefighter (CBMERJ), a climber, a rescuer (Brazilian Rescue Association), qualified in height rescue (Brazilian Rescue Association – 1st Union of Mountaineers) and rescue in wild environments (Civil Volunteer Fire Department – RJ).
Serra da Bocaina, recently declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, is the second largest protected area of the Atlantic Forest. In an environment of peace and exuberant nature, Bocaina houses in its different landscapes a great wealth of flora and fauna. A large number of animals find refuge there: rare birds, ocelots, wild pigs, howler monkeys and many others, including the puma, one of the largest felines of the Americas.
Located on the border between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Bocaina goes from sea level to altitudes above 2,000m, generating impressive waterfalls, peaks and viewpoints.
Bananal is one of the cities with the most attractions.
The cozy Bananal is located in the eastern region of São Paulo, almost on the border with Rio de Janeiro. The State Government conferred it the official title of tourist destination. The city is rich of history in its monuments, mansions and farms from the glory days of the coffee barons. Many of these historic sites have become hotels, restaurants or museums.
Surrounded by the Atlantic Forest, Bananal is located at the foot of the Serra da Bocaina. Those who visit have the opportunity to visit spectacular waterfalls, take unforgettable walks, stroll through preserved old farms, visit the historic center and feel the peace of the countryside.
