Pedra do Frade, a rocky structure with an elevation of 1,574 meters, is impressive for its magnificence. It can be seen from different high points of the Serra da Bocaina National Park, such as the Tira Chapéu Peak, the Pedra da Macela and the Sobrado Viewpoint, and the entire coast of Angra dos Reis, including the BR-101 road.
The trail requires good physical preparation. It´s 16 kilometers of trekking per day, within the Atlantic Forest, departing from Serra da Bocaina in Bananal-SP, crossing river and flooded areas, until the base of rock. The final challenge is a steep climb that requires a lot of attention, care and adequate safety equipment.
At the top of rock, however, all the effort on the way is more than compensated by the 360 ° of a stunning panoramic view: the Ilha Grande Bay, the coastal plain of Angra dos Reis and Paraty, the Serra da Bocaina and the Serra do Mar .
The sunset and the sunrise, seen from this wild camp, are unforgettable spectacles.
Our itineraries are carefully prepared for your safety.
We take care of our forests. For each visitor we take on our tours, we plant a native tree from the Atlantic Forest by abseiling in places that are difficult to reach. The planting is a partnership with Amovale and One Tree Planted.
