About this tour

The Sete Quedas waterfall is one of the main tourist attractions in the region. It is located at the Bananal Ecological Station, a protection area for the last remnants of the Atlantic Forest in the State of São Paulo.

To get to the Ecological Station, we depart from the historic center by a road that borders the Bananal River and passes through the oldest chapel in the city, the Chapel of São José do Retiro from 1783. On the way, it´s possible to discover breathtaking views of the Serra da Bocaina.

The Sete Quedas Waterfall is a set of seven independent waterfalls formed by the same river with crystal clear water. The sixth and seventh are considered the most beautiful.

A small trail, well preserved and full of bromeliads, leads to the bucolic seventh fall. With a sand bank, the waterfall invites children to play. The lawn by the well is ideal for lying down and contemplating the beautiful waterfall.

A second small trail leads to the sixth fall, where you can swim in a pool with a large volume of water and experience hydromassage in a natural bathtub dug into the stone by the water.

The itinerary includes a visit to the Caminho do Ariró (Ariró Path), or Caminho do Ouro (Gold Path), from 1714, one of the vicinal routes of the Estrada Real (Royal Road), through which the gold was transported to the port of Ariró (today, Angra dos Reis-RJ).

Our itineraries are carefully prepared for your safety.

We take care of our forests. For each visitor we take on our tours, we plant a native tree from the Atlantic Forest by abseiling in places that are difficult to reach. The planting is a partnership with Amovale and One Tree Planted.
